On Saturday, August 31, 2024, Elder Issah Nwenbe Jeln, the PENSA Ghana Coordinator, delivered a powerful message on Christian leadership during his visit to PENSA Pentecost University. In his address, Elder Nwenbe Jeln emphasized the importance of leading according to God’s standards and avoiding manipulative or rebellious leadership styles.
Speaking on the topic, “Leading God’s Way,” Elder Jeln stressed that Christian leaders must combine administrative skills with the power component of God. He referenced Daniel 3, encouraging believers to grow in their endeavors and persistently seek God’s voice in their leadership roles. “Christians should grow in whatever they do and keep pressing until they hear the voice of God,” Elder Jeln stated.
He warned against manipulative leadership, describing it as a method where leaders exploit systems or structures for personal gain, particularly in terms of finances or favor from others. The PENSA Ghana Coordinator also addressed the issue of rebellious leadership, characterizing it as a dangerous approach that mirrors Lucifer’s rebellion against God. “To rebel against godly leaders is to remind God of Lucifer, who rebelled in His presence,” Elder Jeln cautioned.
Elder Jeln reminded the PENSA leaders that God is the ultimate leader, guiding His creation while using people as instruments of His leadership. He then outlined five key principles for leading God’s way:
– Leading with Love: Referencing John 3:16 and 1 Corinthians 13:1, Elder Jeln emphasized God’s unconditional love, even in rebellion.
– Leading with Integrity: Drawing from Numbers 23:19 and Psalms 78:72, he stressed the importance of honesty and uprightness in leadership.
– Leading with Loyalty: Elder Jeln defined loyalty as faithfulness and devotion to followers, noting that the duration of a relationship does not measure it.
– Leading with Diligence: Citing Jeremiah 48:10a, he highlighted God’s diligence and hard work as a model for Christian leaders.
– Leading with Honor: A true leader should acknowledge the achievements of others and celebrate the uniqueness of people.
In conclusion, Elder Issah Nwenbe Jeln shared a powerful insight: “The highest form of investment on earth is to invest in people, and the Christian leader should seek to establish the Kingdom of God in the hearts of people and transform his followers.” He encouraged the students and leaders of PENSA Pentecost University to prioritize the development and nurturing of people as a crucial aspect of godly leadership.
The gathering at PENSA Pentecost University was well-attended by the President, Elder Ishmael Donkor, the immediate past President, Elder John Anbong, along with the current Local Central Committee, some immediate past Local Central Committee members, and other members of PENSA-PU.
