Apostle Ebenezer Hagan, the Youth Director of the Church of Pentecost, has called on young people to take responsibility for their generation and dedicate themselves to serving God wholeheartedly. Speaking at the Youth Ministry’s Mega Watch Night Service held on September 27, 2024, he emphasized the fleeting nature of time, urging the youth to make the most of their youthful energy in the service of the Lord.
“Life is ticking, and nobody can stop it,” Apostle Hagan cautioned. “If you don’t use your youth to serve God, time will pass, and by the time you realize it, you’ll be old.” He highlighted the pivotal role that young people play as pillars of the church, crucial to fulfilling the Church of Pentecost’s mission to possess the nations.
The service, held at the Salvation Army Park in Lartebiokorshie, Accra, was graced by several high-ranking officials of the Church of Pentecost, including Apostles Emmanuel Appiah, the newly appointed Evangelism Director, and Daniel Kwadjoe Sey, Dansoman Area Head.
Apostle Hagan urged the youth to engage actively in ministry, rather than being passive attendees. He reiterated that the Youth Ministry is tasked with grounding young people in Christ, empowering them, and releasing them to make a significant impact wherever they are. He emphasized that merely attending church to sing, give offerings, and leave is not enough—full engagement in the work of the ministry is required.
He also highlighted some of the challenges youth face today, such as trials, false religions, atheism, cultism, and false prophets. He underscored the importance of relying on the power of God’s Word to stay grounded and resist these challenges. He introduced the ABCs of Youth Ministry:
A: The youth are a vital part of the Church of Pentecost’s Vision 2028.
B: The ministry aims to ground young people in Christ.
C: Active participation in youth programs is crucial for spiritual growth.
Additionally, Apostle Hagan introduced Agenda 1³, encouraging each young person to reach out to at least one person, share the gospel, and disciple them. He emphasized the importance of daily Bible study for spiritual growth, reminding the youth that “one who wins souls is wise.”
In conclusion, he urged the youth to be bold in their faith, participate actively in church programs, and dedicate their youth to serving God wholeheartedly.
Among the attendees were Mrs. Priscilla Hagan, the Youth Director’s wife, Pastors Gordon Ansah (National Secretary of the Youth Ministry), Philip Pascal Asiedu (National Executive Committee Member), and other key leaders and their wives, alongside media representatives from Pent TV and Pentecost News.
