The Bompata sector of the Pentecost Students and Associates, PENSA recently hosted the STAGE ON FIRE CONFERENCE 2024, a vibrant event of praises, worship, musical performances, drama, and choreography. This grand gathering took place at the Akwatialine Assembly’s main auditorium on Saturday, April 13, 2024, featuring the Bompata sector mass choir, Liberation choir, and ensembles from various institutions within the Bompata sector. These groups mesmerized the audience with a symphony of melodious and uplifting gospel music.
The event showcased a rich tapestry of choirs, each representing a different institution. Among them were the Melodians from PENSA Kumasi Technical University and soulful performances from institutions such as PENSA – Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Saint Louis College of Education, Saint Michael Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Saint Patricks Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Offinso College of Education and Wesley College of Education.
Pastor Daniel Obeng Mensah, the Traveling Secretary for PENSA Bompata sector and event chair, commenced the conference with a heartfelt welcome. He expressed gratitude to the Almighty for the grace bestowed upon the gathering and recalled the previous year’s STAGE ON FIRE Conference held at the Bompata PIWC auditorium. Pastor Mensah emphasized the divine blessings received by the sector and the importance of coming together once again to celebrate the Lord’s goodness.
He highlighted that the STAGE ON FIRE Conference has become an annual tradition within PENSA Bompata sector, providing an opportunity for institutions in the sector to gather as one church to glorify God through music, drama, choreography and other performances. This year’s edition was themed “Declare God’s glory among the nations as an unleashed,” inspired by 1 Peter 2:9. Pastor Mensah elucidated the scripture, stating that God calls and unleashes us to proclaim His glory among the nations.
Pastor Obeng Mensah encouraged attendees to fully immerse themselves in the performances, paying close attention to the various acts on stage as they glorify God and inspire the audience. He expressed the hope that all would leave the auditorium filled with the Holy Spirit, empowered to return to their respective institutions and declare the praise of the One who called them.
The day included an enlightening drama performance by the PENSA Drama and Literary Group of Kumasi Technical University and an energetic choreographed dance by the Throne Room Theatre of Kumasi Technical University. Approaching the latter end of the conference, PENSA Wesley College of Education delivered a rousing “Gospel Jama” performance, infusing the atmosphere with jubilation.
To climax the conference, Pastor Daniel Obeng Mensah and Elder Eric Nana Kwadwo Asante led the congregation in a spiritually enriching session of worship and devotion. This immersive experience left the attendees inspired and spiritually renewed.
