PENSA-UPSA, in Collaboration with Jesus Rescue Team and Theovision Ghana, Leads Transformative Rural Evangelism in Akim-Oda Area — Over 1,000 Souls Reached for Christ

In a powerful demonstration of faith and service, the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), in collaboration with Jesus Rescue Team and Theovision Ghana, led a transformative rural evangelism campaign from June 22 to 29, 2025, in the Akim-Oda Area. Under the theme “Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World” (John 3:16–21), the week-long outreach mobilized 115 passionate student missionaries and partners who brought the gospel to life across twelve districts in Ghana’s Eastern Region.

A Great Harvest of Souls

Guided by the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), PENSA-UPSA carried out evangelism activities in Osoroase, Abenase, Adubease, Otsreso, Manso, Anamase, Offoase, Apoli, Ayirebi, Asene, Nkwanteng, and Aduasa. By God’s grace, the mission yielded 1,056 souls, with 206 receiving water baptism and 166 baptized in the Holy Spirit. Additionally, 420 individuals rededicated their lives to Christ.

A significant milestone was the planting of a new local assembly in the Abidjan community within the Aduasa District, beginning with 25 adult converts.

School outreaches across all twelve districts contributed 802 souls to the harvest, underlining the campaign’s impact on young people.

Diverse Evangelism Strategies

To effectively reach different groups, the mission employed various strategies including school outreaches, street rallies, film and ghetto evangelism, one-on-one engagements, sports, medical outreaches, and audio Bible listening sessions. Ghetto evangelism alone led to 15 conversions, while the combined film and medical outreaches resulted in 66 souls won, with 51 baptized in water and 25 in the Holy Spirit.

Social Impact and Community Support

Beyond spiritual transformation, the outreach brought social impact. Elder Professor John K. Mawutor, Vice Chancellor of UPSA, joined the team in the field. He offered four full bachelor’s degree scholarships with stipends to needy but brilliant SHS graduates and pledged support for the establishment of a community library at Osoroase.

Rev. Michael Davies of Jesus Rescue Team donated sporting equipment, while mosquito nets, bedding, clothing, and Bibles were distributed to families in the Abidjan community.

Miracles and Testimonies

The week was marked by signs and wonders. Notable testimonies included deliverance from alcoholism in Apoli, physical healing in Nkwanteng, and a life-changing intervention in Ayirebi, where a 15-year-old girl battling depression and rejection decided to return to school. Her decision was met with overwhelming encouragement from the mission team.

Looking Ahead

“For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ… Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:9–11

To God be all the glory.
