Prioritize the “Go and Tell” Mandate ‎ ~Pastor David Aryee Urges Believers

The District Pastor of Mt. Zion Worship Centre under the Kaneshie Area, Pastor Inspector David Nii Okai Aryee, has urged members of the church and especially the youth to prioritize the “Go and Tell” mandate. Anchoring his message on John 1:40–42, Matthew 28:19–20, and Luke 14:21–23, Pastor Aryee challenged the youth to overcome every excuse that makes it difficult to proclaim Christ. He emphasized that the last words of a man are significant, and since the final instruction of Jesus was to “Go and Tell,” believers must treat it with utmost importance.

‎Referencing the popular quote, “Every man you meet is either a mission field or a missionary,” attributed to the late Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, he explained that every human encounter presents an opportunity either to reach someone for Christ (a mission field) or to partner with someone already serving Christ (a missionary or mission tool). In his words, “A soul is a soul, and it is precious to God.”

‎He reminded the congregation that evangelism must be free from discrimination based on tribe, race, social class, education, or economic status. He lamented the sad reality that many people die without knowing Christ, urging the church to intensify efforts to reach the lost. He noted that many Christians have friends, colleagues, and relatives who remain unsaved, yet they show little concern.

‎Drawing lessons from Andrew’s introduction of Peter to Jesus, he emphasized that evangelism begins with those closest to us. “If we have seen the light, we must show others the light,” he said.Using the example of the Samaritan woman, he highlighted how a single individual can lead many to Christ when moved by genuine conviction. Pastor Aryee therefore encouraged believers to approach evangelism with intentionality and urgency.

‎Concluding his exhortation, Pastor Aryee challenged the congregation to eschew excuses and commit to aggressive evangelism. He described excuses as “one of the most unprofitable inventions of man.” To go and tell, he said, believers must conquer fear, crucify the flesh, and silence every excuse that hinders obedience to God’s call.

‎He cautioned that no matter how appealing our excuses may seem to man, they hold no weight before God. Recalling the boldness of the early Church, he reminded believers that the fathers of the faith preached the Gospel even at the peril of their lives. “If they risked their lives for the Gospel, then we have no excuse at all,” he declared.

‎Challenging the church to reflect on the day of accountability, he asked what justification we would give for failing to evangelize. He concluded with a powerful reminder: “Your job is to tell people about Jesus. The Holy Spirit will do the rest.”
