On Sunday, 13th July 2025, the Pentecost Young Missionaries (PYM) in the Odorkor Area, in collaboration with the PIWC Odorkor Evangelism team, held a Holy Ghost baptism session for six new converts who had earlier undergone water baptism after the church service. What was expected to be a regular spiritual exercise turned into a dramatic encounter with the power of God.
During the session, one of the converts, a young man referred to as Sampson (not his real name), came under the influence of the Holy Spirit and began manifesting. In a dramatic moment, he started calling out the names of two deities he claimed were inhabiting his room, expressing his deep desire to break free from their hold and fully surrender his life to Jesus.
Led by spiritual discernment and conviction, the team followed Sampson to his home. There, they discovered charms and amulets reportedly filled with crocodile and hippopotamus ashes and parts. These items, once used for protection and rituals, were collected and brought to the church grounds for a complete renunciation and destruction.
At the church premises, the Odorkor Area Youth Leader, Pastor Kwame Apeakese Pipim, prayed over the charms, invoking the authority of Jesus Christ. The items were then publicly burned, marking a symbolic and spiritual severance from the past and a new beginning for the young convert.
This unforgettable moment stands as a powerful testament to the impact of the PYM initiative and the move of the Holy Spirit among the youth. The Pentecost Young Missionaries continue to prove that when empowered and united in purpose, young people are not only soul winners but also agents of deliverance and transformation in their generation.
